Gift Certificates

Overview
Gift certificates are purchasable items in your store. A buyer can specify a recipient for the certificate, who can then use the certificate in your store. Gift certificates are a popular way for people to exchange gift ideas. The recipient can choose to spend the money on whatever he/she chooses in your store.

Codes are automatically generated and emailed to recipient when a certificate is purchased. The recipient can choose to spend the whole gift certificate or part of the certificate and redeem the balance later. There is no expiry on gift certificates.

Gift certificates should not be confused with discount coupons, which are admin created discounts.
